Listens to Photographers:
Profoto have listened to photographers' requests and have just released their
latest flash head - a battery operated mono-block producing a useful 500w/s.
The rechargeable battery fits straight onto the flash head, so unlike power
packs, there is no cable connecting a heavy power pack onto a separate head.
This is a truly self-contained unit and is compatible with Profoto's
comprehensive range of light shapers. 
A kit, which consists of one head, one battery, a
charger and a bag, is expected to sell at under R25000 and stock is expected in

Samyang Prime
Lenses: Samyang have been making high-quality, solidly
constructed, multi-coated lenses for some time and they are now also available
in South Africa . These (manual-focus) lenses have become popular overseas where
their optical properties and great price / quality ratio has made many fans.
These excellent value-for-money lenses are available for most mounts and are a
good alternative to OEM offerings. Of particular interest to videographers is
that many of their lenses are also available “de-clicked” for video
application.
